Constance Bacon -As a kid I made a mean mud pie. Since 2001 I have been throwing pots at Mudville Pottery studio in Somerville.  I use sgraffito techniques to make my high fire stoneware more unique and interesting. I paint slip or underglaze on the leather-hard clay, then carve through the painted areas to the base clay to create my designs.  The finished products are food safe, as well as microwave and dishwasher safe.

I mainly use red, black, and white as my primary colors.

Madeleine Hall-Arber--As an anthropologist and potter I am delighted by the joy of creating whimsical work in stoneware and porcelain. My endless challenge is to make utilitarian pieces that surprise or amuse. Often I offset the marvelous symmetry of wheel-thrown work with hand-built additions or sculpture that nevertheless retains the elegance of the thrown piece while making it unique. Sometimes it is just a face hiding under a mug handle, other times a full-figure balances on the edge of a pot. Enjoy!

Karen Kemp Etching is as much about the process as it is about the result: the print. A design is etched into a zinc plate using nitric acid, a medium that can be moody and temperamental. Ink is then rubbed into the lines, dampened rag paper is placed on top of the inked plate, and then run through a press. The design is then transferred to the paper. Each print is hand-inked, and as a result no two are the same.

difficult to produce, and very few potters work with this technique. The results are a combination of specific glaze formulation and firing techniques. David & Mark Stepper --As children, identical twins David and Mark Stepper became fascinated with the Earth's unique inhabitants. They could often be found exploring the ponds and back woods surrounding their Connecticut home for turtles, frogs and fish. David and Mark were trained in sculpture by their mother, an accomplished artist, and were transforming scraps of clay into wonderful creatures by age three. When David and Mark combine their individual artistic styles, the outcome is extraordinary. Their work embraces both abstract and realistic elements, resulting in a line of imaginative yet familiar creatures. Delightful personality and fantastic motion bring each piece to life. All sculptures are hand-cast in high quality lead-free pewter and meticulously hand-finished. David and Mark's work can be found in galleries, museums and other fine retail establishments throughout the United States and abroad.

Darren Wetzel  -Mr. Wetzel is a Boston artist specializing in oil on canvas landscapes.  His landscapes vary in style and palette.  "A good landscape painting is not just a rendering of the image, whether realistic or abstract, but it also lets the viewer feel the instant -- the heat of the sun, the cool closeness of fog, the swirling colors of a windy day, the quiet solitude of evening."

Laura E. White-I create fresh exuberant acrylic paintings on canvas that can brighten your day. My paintings tend to lean towards geometric shapes that represent the micro and macro of the world around us. I also adore gentle flows of color to create a favorable mood. Please stop by and say “hello”!
